Arnold High School Clubs

Students are encouraged to become involved in the opportunities for school and community service, leadership, and personal growth offered by school clubs and organizations.

AHS CLUBS

Anchor Club:

Sponsor- Jan Hurst

Meets every 1st & 3rd Tuesday of each month

About the Club:

Is a service club for students sponsored by the Panama City Chapter of the Pilot International. Its aims are to develop initiative, leadership and personal integrity while serving the school and community. Students must maintain a 2.5 GPA and complete service projects to remain in good standing. 


Art Club:

Sponsor- Brandi Goss

Meets on Thursday's after school.

About the Club:  

We promote art within our student body as well as art in our community. Art Club does numerous volunteering in our community. 


Beta Club:

Sponsor- Scott Woodyard

Meets the 2nd Thursday of every month.

About the Club:  
Beta Club draws its membership from students who demonstrate high standards of character, scholarship, leadership, and service. A 3.0 GPA is required for this elite honor and service club. After applications are submitted, students are tapped on an honors day in the fall.

CC&T  (College, Career and Transition):

Sponsor- Negrin

Meet on the second Wednesday of every month in Bldg 3 Room 121.

About the Club:

 We will meet during both lunches and provide lunch, as well. The main focus of the club is to support the students to learn and explore career pathways and post-secondary educational options. Students will work together to explore college and career options, engage in mentoring, and participate in events and activities within the school and community to build college and career transition plans. Basically,  "What are my options after Arnold?"

Computer Science Club: 

Sponsor - Jimmy Wiselogel

About the Club:

Explore computer programming. Build and refurbish computer hardware. Participate in programming competitions.

Debate Club:

Sponsor- Mat Birmingham

Meet in rm 5-211 - 2nd and 4th Fridays
About the Club:

Coincide with the National Speech and Debate Association and the Florida Forensics League to further the use of Speech and Debate in the students.Provide students the opportunity to attend both the Regional (Niceville) and State (Orlando) competition in Speech and Forensics. Students will also be able to join the National Speech and Debate Honor Society which will be part of the club. This will allow students to further their ability to reasons and communicate in an effective manner.


Diamond Girls:

Sponsor- Sharon Gilson

Meets the first Friday of every month @ 8am

About the Club:

The club makes goody bags for the baseball team for the away games and work the concession stands at the home baseball games. 

Diamond Girls also go to all the games to cheer on the team. 


Engineering Club:

Sponsor- Joseph Bell

Meet every Monday after school.

About the Club:

After School club that is focused on participating in local

 engineering challenges and events, such as BEST

.Every member has to pay $25 dues.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA):

Sponsors- Lashbrook and Gudz

Meets during both Lunches every Thursday in the band auxiliary room.

Fishing Club:

Meets the first Tuesday of every month

About the Club:

We will be going on fishing trips, and do a community project.

HOSA:

We are collecting Dog & Cat food now to take to the aniaml Shelter.

To be a member you need to donate a bag of food and $20 gets you the shirt.

Clubs and organizations must be approved by the principal before they can operate within a school and must comply with established policies.  The purposes, qualifications for members, and rules of conduct of clubs are available to all students and instructional personnel.  Hazing of members is prohibited.  This is defined as any action for the purpose of initiation which recklessly or intentionally endangers a student’s mental or physical health or safety.  Initiation ceremonies must be submitted to the faculty sponsor for review and approval by the principal.  Dues are required for many clubs, but must be reasonable.  Meetings are to be held on school property in school facilities, although special events may be exempt from this through request by the faculty sponsor from the administration.  Club dues are accounted for through the school’s internal accounting system.
