The Hutchison Beach Elementary School Advisory Council meets on the third Tuesday of each month. Please read the following information about serving on the SAC and let us know if you are interested in serving.  Meeting dates and times are posted on the school calendar found on this website.

Florida law mandates that each public school have a School Advisory Council (SAC), which is a team of people representing various segments of the community - parents, teachers, students, administrators, support staff, business/industry people and other interested community members. By law, each SAC must be composed of the principal and an appropriately balanced number of stakeholders. Members should be representative of the ethnic, racial and economic makeup of the community served by the school. High schools and vocational technical center SACs are required to have student members. Middle may also include students on their SAC.

The majority of SAC members (more than 50 percent) must not be employed by the school where they serve. Members of the SAC assist in the development, preparation and evaluation of the results of the school improvement plan, and assist the Principal with the annual school budget. Additionally, each SAC receives funds that are used only at the discretion of the Committee. A portion of the money is to be used for implementing the school improvement plan, which shall include measurable performance indicators. Funding is allocated directly to the SACs, should be clearly earmarked for its use and is not subject to override by the Principal or interim approvals by school district staff. These moneys may not be used for capital improvements. Contact a school administrator for more information.
