Total: 21,858.8 with 81.2% (as of 4/29/08) Beach Dolphins have met their challenge!!! The Accelerated Reader Ceremony will be held May 21st.
Our Accelerated Reader program is responsible for motivating our students to become better readers. Students are given the opportunity to select books that are on their reading level. After reading the book, students take a computerized test that accesses their comprehend of the content of the book. They instantly know the points that they have earned and the percentage that they have scored on their test. Based on a point system, students earn AR shirts and stars that go on their shirts to recognize their success. Students are recognized each day: starting with Kindergarten on Mondays, First grade on Tuesdays, Second grade on Wednesdays, Third grade on Thursdays, and Fourth and Fifth grades on Friday. They are presented on our Interschool TV Broadcast where they can wear their AR shirt and are introduced to the audience by our principal. Students also can earn points toward a semester event titled, " Dolphin Island".
