School Profile

Deane Bozeman School (formerly Bozeman Learning Center) opened in August 2000 as a Pre-K through 8th grade facility to meet the educational needs of a fast growing semi-rural area in northern Bay County. Beginning in 2003, one high school grade per year has been added. The 2007 school year marked our very first graduating senior class! Bozeman is ranked a "A" school by the Florida Department of Education and we enjoy full SACS accreditation.

The school currently serves approximately 1300 students in Pre-Kindergarten-12th grade, with elementary enrollment at 350, middle school enrollment at 380, and high school enrollment is 560. Our minority student population is 3% and our free and reduced lunch percentage is 44%.

Bozeman High School offers a comprehensive curriculum which includes college preparatory as well as general diploma studies. Dual Enrollment is offered through a cooperative program with Gulf Coast Community College in which students earn both high school and college credits. Dual enrolled courses are offered in American History, College Algebra, Biology, English Composition, Theater and Stagecraft. Honors classes are offered in English I through III, Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Biology, Chemistry, World History, U.S. History and Economics.

Of the 85 faculty and administrative staff, 41% hold degrees higher than a Bachelor's degree. Bozeman currently has 8 National Board Certified Teachers (NBCT) on staff.

Bozeman school offers a wide variety of sports, music, art and extra-curricular activities which we believe helps develop well-rounded students. More information about these programs can be found elsewhere on our web site.

School Beliefs

Student learning is the chief priority for the school.

Student's learning needs should be the primary focus of all decisions impacting the work of the school.

Students learn in different ways and should be provided with a variety of instructional approaches to support their learning.

Curriculum and instructional practices should incorporate a variety of learning activities to accomodate differences in learning styles.

Teachers, administrators, parents and the community share the responsibility for advancing the school's mission.

Beliefs Statement

We believe that each child is a unique individual with potential that can be accentuated and realized with sound, quality education. This education is a product of teachers, parents and the learner working cooperatively to develop innate human potential. We believe that effective decision making and policy formation will provide the diverse strategies, methods, delivery, setting and personalities that address each child physically, emotionally, socially, and intellectually.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide a safe effective learning environment in which the academic, emotional, and social needs of each student are successfully met.
