Sheila Hood

 Mrs. Hood is a graduate of Florida A&M University. After ten years in accounting she decided to return to school and get her degree in Elementary Education. She has been teaching for 17 years. She's taught 5th grade for 12 of those years. She believes the key to unlocking student success is in teaching them to love learning. She is beginning her fourth year at DPE. She enjoys spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter. She loves to crochet and loves the beach.


Stacy Thomason

Stacy Thomason was born and raised right here in Panama City, Florida! Stacy graduated in 2003 from FSU-PC with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. She has taught at Waller, Hiland Park, and is starting her 6th year as an Angler! All together she has fifteen years of experience teaching 4th and 5th grade! Her and her husband, Luke, have two children, Presley who is going in to third grade and Colton who will be starting Pre-K. They love spending their time together doing things as a family. One of the most important things they do together is attend church. They believe it is necessary to survive.

 Wanda Newberry
 Mrs. Newberry is a graduate of Florida State University-PC and has been teaching 15 years! Her certifications include K-6, ESOL, Gifted, and ESE K-12. This will be her seventh year teaching at Deer Point. She has been married for 39 years, has four wonderful children (3 girls/1 boy), and four grandsons! When Mrs. Newberry's not at school she loves spending time with her family, traveling, watching her grandson's play baseball, and camping. Having a fabulous seventh year as an Angler is top on her list of school priorities!
