Nancy Tilghman

Speech and Language

Mrs. Tilghman is a graduate of Mississippi University for Women with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Science and Disorders and a Master of Science in Speech Language Pathology. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and a License from the Florida Department of Health. Mrs. Tilghman was born and raised in Panama City, FL. She loves spending time out on the water and traveling with her family.

Sarah DeVito

Sara DeVito has been a Speech-Language Pathologist for Bay District Schools for the past 5 years. This is her second year at Deer Point Elementary School working with students who have Autism Spectrum Disorders. In the past, she has worked with a multitude of communication disorders including: receptive and expressive language delay, articulation disorders, fluency, Apraxia, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. When she is not at school, she enjoys spending time with her husband and her two fur babies (Gus-Gus and Chloe), as well as baking custom cookies and sweets. She is excited to return to Deer Point and is looking forward to a great school year! 

 

 

Wanda Newberry

Mrs. Newberry is a graduate of Florida State University-PC and has been teaching 14 years! Her certifications include K-6, ESOL, Gifted, and ESE K-12. This will be her sixth year teaching at Deer Point. She has been married for 38 years, has four wonderful children (3 girls/1 boy), and four grandsons! When Mrs. Newberry's not at school she loves spending time with her family, traveling, watching her grandson's play baseball, and camping. Having a fabulous seventh year as an Angler is top on her list of school priorities!
 

 

Niki Nichols

Mrs. Nichols was born and raised in Panama City, FL. She graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Social Work, but soon realized she wanted to make a difference in the classroom and has been an Exceptional Student Education teacher since 2003. Mrs. Nichols has three wonderful children: Reid is 8, Cade is 5 and Marlee is 3. When she is not teaching, Mrs. Nichols can be found spending time camping, boating and swimming with her husband and their three children.

 

JoBeth Davis

 Mrs. Davis has been a part of the Deer Point family since 2016 and was previously a teacher at Kate M. Smith Elementary for seven years in Chipley, FL. She is a graduate of the University of West Florida with her Bachelor's in Elementary and Exceptional Student Education. Mrs. Davis will complete her Masters in Educational Leadership in May 2019. She is passionate about what she does and loves every facet of her job.


Megan Hamilton

Mrs. Hamilton was born and raised in Stow, Ohio. Her and her husband moved to Panama City, Florida where they are both teachers. She graduated from Grand Canyon University in 2017 and is continuing her education with a masters in special education. This will be her first year teaching at Deer Point Elementary School, but has worked here as a paraprofessional over the last couple of years. Mrs. Hamilton is awaiting her certification to transfer to Florida and is excited to sub as an ESE teacher while she awaits the opportunity for a full-time position.  Deer Point is lucky to have her!

  Mrs. Creamer is entering her 18th year in education with Bay District Schools. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, a Master's Degree in Reading/Language Arts, a Specialist's Degree in Educational Leadership, and K-12 Certification in Guidance and Counseling. This will be her 8th year as a Deer Point Angler, and she absolutely adores her job as a Guidance Counselor. Mrs. Creamer enjoys shopping, eating out, hunting, boating, and traveling...especially with her husband, Jason, and two children. Her daughter, Kendall, is a sophomore at Mosley High School, and her son, Cade, is a sixth grader at Mowat Middle School. She looks forward to working with the students, parents, teachers, and staff at Deer Point this year. Go Anglers!
 

Jillian Knight

Intervention Specialist

Mrs. Knight is a proud product of Bay District Schools and is entering her 14th year working in the district. She is a graduate of the University of West Florida with a bachelor's degree in elementary and exceptional student education, as well as a master's degree in educational leadership. She has been a DP Angler since 2013 and now loves to serve our school as a student intervention specialist in the guidance department. A Bay County native, Mrs. Knight enjoys spending time with her husband, Daniel, and daughter, Brinley, doing anything outdoors from four-wheeling to swimming and fishing. She looks forward to a great school year and is always available to assist our Deer Point students and families any way she can!
