Important Dates

Graduation Dates 2019

April 10-18
Graduates order Cap and Gown and DVD's in Student Services. (See Graduation Ordering Information Link for more information.)

May 17
Deadline for clearing deficiencies such as ID badges, lost Media Center books, damaged or lost tools, tuition payments, etc.

Deadline for completing all coursework, passing TABE or Wonderlic (Career Technical Students) or GED requirements. (See exceptions listed on GED students and Career Technical Education Pages)

May 21-24
Pick up Cap and Gown and entry tickets for guests in Student Services.

May 24
Graduates' textbooks are due to the Media Center. All library books are due.

May 31 
8:30 AM: Catered breakfast for Graduates at 8:30 am in the Haney Cafe'. Wear alumni t-shirts given out with caps & gowns.

9:30 AM:  To celebrate Haney's 50th Anniversary, we will bury a Time Capsule near the flag pole in front of Building 1.  

10:00 AM: Graduation Practice at Emerald Coast Fellowship, 4102 W. Hwy 390, Lynn Haven, Florida, 32444 (Mandatory Attendance)

6:00 PM:  Graduation Ceremony at Emerald Coast Fellowship, 4102 W. Hwy 390, Lynn Haven, Florida, 32444 (Arrive dressed in Cap and Gown no later than 5:15 PM)

Due to Hurricane Michael, we have moved to a smaller venue which will limit the number of guests for each student.  Tickets will be required for entry.  There is no charge for tickets. Each graduate will be provided 4 tickets for guest entry.  If additional tickets are available, we will create a lottery for students who need more.  Everybody except for Haney staff and graduates will be required to have a ticket for entry--this includes babies and children.

GED Students

Congratulations on reaching this important milestone.  We look forward to honoring your achievements in a dignified ceremony.  Below are the fees and deadlines for participating in the Haney Technical Center Graduation Ceremony. 

Due to Hurricane Michael, we have moved to a smaller venue which will limit the number of guests for each student.  Tickets will be required for entry.  There is no charge for tickets. Each student will be provided 4 tickets depending on the number of graduates who sign up to participate.  If additional tickets are available, we will create a lottery for students who need more.  

For GED students who attended TABE or GED classes at Haney,  the student fees which you paid with your tuition cover the cost of your cap and gown and participation in graduation, however, you must place the order during these dates to participate.  If you receive passing GED scores after the ordering deadline of April 18, please contact Mrs. Vann immediately to find out if you will be able to participate.

For GED students who did not attend TABE or GED classes at Haney, the graduation fee is $75.00 and includes cap, gown, tassel, and participation.  Orders must be placed during these dates in order to participate.  If you receive passing GED scores after the ordering deadline of April 18, please contact Mrs. Vann immediately to find out if you will be able to participate.

April 10 - 18, 2019:   Register for Graduation in Student Services

  • Order Graduation Cap, Gown, and Tassel.  The cap, gown and tassel will be yours to keep.  ALL graduates are expected to participate in the graduation ceremony. You may not participate in graduation without your cap and gown.
  •  Order a DVD of the Graduation Ceremony.  This is an optional purchase.  DVD’s cost $10  and must be pre-ordered.   Pay and complete the form in Student Services when you order your cap and gown.  Leave a current address so that the DVD can be mailed to you. 
 

All of the above items may be ordered in Student Services in Building 1.

Student Services Hours

Monday through Friday: 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. 

May 17, 2019:  To participate in graduation, all deficiencies such as textbooks, name badges, library books, and any other fees must be cleared.

May 21-24, 2019:  Pick up caps and gowns and entry tickets for guests from Student Services.

May 31, 2019:  

  • We will serve a catered breakfast to graduates in the Haney Cafe' at 8:30 am.  To celebrate Haney's 50th Anniversary, we will bury a Time Capsule at 9:30 am near the flag pole in front of Building 1.  Graduates will then go to Emerald Coast Fellowship for Graduation Practice starting at 10:00 am.  Graduates should wear their alumni t-shirts (given out with caps and gowns) to the breakfast/practice.  Emerald Coast Fellowship, 4102 W. Hwy 390, Lynn Haven, Florida, 32444.  All graduates need to attend practice.  Call Mrs. Vann prior to the ceremony if you will be unable to attend.  Students are responsible for their own transportation.
  • Haney Graduation at Emerald Coast Fellowship at 6:00 p.m. Graduates are to report no later than 5:15 p.m. wear caps and gowns.  Guests may be seated between 5:15 p.m. and 5:50 pm.  Guests arriving after 5:50 p.m. must wait outside until the graduates have been seated.
  • It is recommended that men wear slacks or khakis, a neatly-pressed, button-down shirt with a tie, socks, and dress shoes under the gown.  Ladies should wear a dress, skirt, or dress slacks with a blouse and dress shoes under the gown. Shorts, jeans, athletic shoes, and flip flops are to be avoided.  Remember that you will be climbing and descending stairs, so wear shoes that you can walk in comfortably and safely.
