The purpose of the Accounting Operations training program is to prepare students for employment as accounting clerks, bookkeepers, and posting clerks or to provide supplemental accountant training for persons previously or currently employed in these occupational areas.

The Accounting Operations program includes:

  • double-entry accounting principles
  • methods of recording business transactions
  • preparation of financial statements
  • payroll records and tax forms
  • account and transaction analysis
  • inventory methods
  • the account receivable aging process
  • depreciation methods and calculations
  • Excel,  and Quickbooks training

Program Structure
This program is a planned sequence of instruction consisting of four occupational completion points (OCPs).

Admission Requirements
Age:
16 years or older

Basic Skills: Unless exempt, students' competency in reading, math, and language are assessed within six (6) weeks of program entry using the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE). Required basic skill grade levels are: Reading 10A, Math 10A, and Language 10A.
