Haney Technical Center's Digital Design program is your doorway into an exciting career in computer graphics and desktop publishing!

In the Digital Design program at Haney Technical Center, you'll have a chance to learn not only the theory and practices involved in designing for today's printed media, but also participate daily in hands-on activities working with industry-standard software to produce a wide variety of designs and formats.

In the Digital Design program you will -

  • Work with today's leading software
    • Adobe Photoshop CS5
    • Adobe Illustrator CS5
    • Adobe InDesign CS5
    • Corel Draw x6
  • Gain hands-on experience with the equipment you will see in the field
    • Large format poster printing
    • Vinyl production
    • State-of-the-Industry digital cameras and scanning equipment
  • Produce real projects for publication
    • Business Cards, Letterhead Design, Brochures
    • Posters and Advertising products
    • Logo design

This program is a planned sequence of instruction consisting of five (5) occupational completion points (OCPs).

Admission Requirements
Age:
16 years or older

Basic Skills: Unless exempt, students' competency in reading, math, and language are assessed within six (6) weeks of program entry using the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE). Required basic skill grade levels are: Reading 9, Math 9, and Language 9.

About The Instructor
Mr. Heath, instructorMr. Heath worked in graphic design and advertising for six years before beginning his career with Bay District Schools. A graduate of Mosley High School, with an Associates degree from Gulf Coast State College and a Bachelors from the University of West Florida, Mr. Heath took over as instructor of the Digital Design program in fall of 2010. He has six years of experience in the field of graphic design and advertising, and is currently teaching his third year as a full time instructor.
