FREE DENTAL CARE
Project Dentist Care is open again
this year. But funding has been significantly cut. If your child
is having dental problems or has not see a dentist in the last
few years, please call Cathy Lee (Jinks MS Nurse). The only
qualification is that your child be on free or reduced lunch,
and be evaluated for dental problems by the nurse. However special
needs are considered. If you have transportation problems, a
trip to the Dental College is being planned, but due to cuts
in the budget, seating is limited.
HEPATITIS B VACCINE
Parents please remember, after your child
has received their shots you need to send proof of immunization
into the guidance office.
Note to Sixth Grade Parents: As many of you are aware, the Hepatitis
B Vaccine (a series of 3 shots over 6 months) is a requirement
for 7th grade entry. If your 6th grade child has not started,
or completed, this series, the 7th grades shots will be offered
at the school again this year. We will start them in November,
and finish in May. A letter with information on the vaccines
and a permission slip will be sent to each 6th grade parent.
HEALTH INSURANCE
If your child does not have health insurance due to inability to pay the very high premiums that are common. Please call the nurse, as Healthy Kids Insurance applications are very easy to fill out and payments are very reasonable. I will be happy to discuss finances or assist in filling out a form if needed. Many people have been found to qualify for Medicaid when their form was sent in. Please, if you have any questions call.
