Housing over 10,000 media items, we are an essential
component in the education of your child.
Our Digital Reference Laboratory (DRL) provides all
classroom teachers the opportunity to use the powerful
resources of the World Wide Web.

Jinks
Digital Reference Laboratory
When it
comes to online information resources, we take a different
approach than many educational institutions.
Rather than simply listing Internet resources, we are
teaching our students the process of using the
Internet for information management. Our
process includes the following three basic steps:
- Planning,
including conceptualizing, and formulating strategies.
- Accessing
the information, including indexed and non-indexed
materials.
- Citing
the material that is used through proper bibliographic
preparation and design.

to learn more about how we use electronic media. It
is open from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. every school day.
WJMS Television
Our school-wide television has
served Jinks students for many years. The WJMS staff
provides timely news, current events, as well as educational
content, to the staff and students at Jinks each morning.

enables you to search for materials based on Accelerated
Reader levels or Lexile scores. Additionally, you can
search other media centers throughout Florida and request
materials through inter-library loan. |
