Welcome to Merriam Cherry Street’s web page.  We are a community school nestled in the cove of Panama City.  This past year we were proud to achieve both A status and AYP under the stringent Florida grading system.  The newly renovated cafeteria, media center, art and music and student service areas have given our school an updated attractive appearance. 

Currently there are three classes at each grade level.  We also offer outstanding special area classes under the direction of Kevin Hall – physical education, Karen Stoval - music and Susan Wise – Art.  Please watch for our programs and art displays.  Our faculty is dedicated, highly experienced and energetic. 

This past July I assumed the principal role at M. Cherry Street.  Prior to that I served as Hiland Park’s assistant principal for three years and before that I was at Rutherford High School as the administrative assistant for Curriculum following sixteen years as a chemistry teacher.   My husband, Jim, is a retired Air Force pilot who is enjoying teaching science to Merritt Brown Middle School students.  We have three grown daughters and 5 grandchildren.  I look forward to meeting M Cherry Street stakeholders and working with the excellent staff at M. Cherry Street.
