Friends of Katelyn

Raised $4000
for the CF Walk

Mowat's FCS

Raised $3900
for the CF Walk

The first CF Walkathon after Katelyn passed was held May 5, 2001, the walk was held in memory of Katelyn. All the students that walked from Mowat and Katelyn's church wore buttons in memory of her. Over $38,000 was raised during the walk. Every year since then friends, students, and teachers have walked in memory of Katelyn.

These poems were written by some of her friends.

There was an angel here on Earth

More precious than diamonds were ever worth

It's hard to believe that an angel was so near

But this angel was, and so kind and dear

This angel had gotten sick but didn't want anyone to be concerned

So she lived her life to the fullest

And there was a lesson that was being learned

While her life was being put to the test:

Life is short, so live it simple

Always smile and show those dimples (hehe)

Don't let anything get in your way

And live your life day by day

The angel realized that life's too short to waste

So she kept her life at a steady pace

But the road ahead looked rather rough

And her steady pace was getting tough

But this strong little angel kept up her steady pace

With her head held high, continued the race

She kept this up for quite a while

Then she saw something strange, the road split, then went for miles

This little angel had come to a fork in the road

She had only two ways to go; just two, not seven

To the left was looking rather rough

And to the right was a stairway; a stairway to Heaven

The little angel had a tough decision to make

But she chose the path to the right to take

Now that angel isn't in any pain

And her long fought lesson, I have gained

You're wondering now who might this angel be?

She's been stored in my heart and locked with a key

This little angel was Katelyn McGill

And forever, an example and angel to me

I'm Looking For A Friend

I'm looking for a friend today,

A friend who'll never stay away.

I want a friend, or maybe two,

I want a friend who's just like you.

I'm looking for a friend, you see,

A friend who needs someone like me.

I want this friend, I really do,

I want a friend who's just like you.

I'm looking for a friend sincere,

A friend who'll always bring good cheer.

I want a friend who wants me too,

I want a friend who's just like you.

I'm looking for a friend who's good,

Who'll do the things a kind of friend should.

I want a friend who's happy too,

I want a friend who's just like you.

I'm looking for a friend that's nice,

Who knows friendship doesn't cost a price.

I want a friend who's always true,

I want a friend who's just like you.

I'm looking for a friend who cares,

Who'll always treat every person fair.

I want a friend who's never blue,

I want a friend who's just like you.

I'm looking for a friend that's bright,

Who'll do nothing unless they know it's right.

I want a friend who know God too,

I want a friend who's just like you.

I'm looking for a loving friend,

Who'll never let our friendship end.

I want a friend who's like me too,

Katelyn, I've found my friend, I'TS YOU!

God Bless you Katelyn, and may you live in
eternal happiness in Heaven.
