The BHS Media Center is open from 7:00 to 2:45. Teachers should schedule their classes with the librarians as soon as possible to assure that the students will be able to use the media center.  

Student Requirements

  • Students may use the media center for research, reading, and studying before school and during lunch without a pass.
  • Students must have an individual pass signed by a teacher or be in a class that is scheduled for the media center to have access to the facility.
  • A Baynet form, signed by a parent or guardian, must be on file in the media center for students to use the Internet. Printing from the Internet costs 0.10 cents per page. Forms are available from teachers or media center specialists.
  • A Baynet form is required for word processing, and there is no charge for the first five pages of word processing.
  • Students do not need an ID to check out books. Books and magazines are checked out for three weeks, while reference books are checked out for one day.

  1. Professional Library (for teachers only)
    • Video Library located in the professional library
    • Computers
    • Books, video tapes, and magazines that relate to the profession of teaching
    • ESOL materials
    • Sunshine State Standards
  2. Student orientation to familiarize students with the media center.
  3. Student assistance with research projects.
  4. Bibliographic assistance for school projects.  The media specialists will create a list and/or assemble materials relating to that topic.
  5. Career video tapes, books and monographs available for teachers and students.
  6. Equipment assistance and repair.
  7. Catalogs for ordering books, video tapes, equipments, etc.
  8. Coffee club for teachers and paraprofessionals:  $15.00 per session or $30.00 per year.
