Costume Design and Construction and Fashion Design both offer 4-year curricula(see below) in the design of theatrical costume and accessories expressed through color rendering and including an overview of the history of costume, and the fashion design process. Utilizing modern sewing technology techniques and computerized machines, students use these tools to produce finished garments or costumes. Students can consider a career in fashion history, the textile industry, design and manufacturing, or merchandising and marketing.

Costume design is included in the Bright Futures Scholarship curriculum, and students can compete at the district, state and national level in costume construction and design.

In addition to competing, students can gain professional experience in wardrobe working backstage at the Marina Civic Center for the off-Broadway venues, such as Elmo's Coloring Book, Cats, Seussical, and many others. As a part of the AICE curriculum, a fall session course in Dress and Textiles is offered. This class requires a teacher recommendation and course pre-requisites, but is available for 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students.
