Welcome to Merriam Cherry Street’s web page. We are a community school nestled in the cove of Panama City. This past year we were proud to achieve both A status and AYP under the stringent Florida grading system. The newly renovated cafeteria, media center, art and music and student service areas have given our school an updated attractive appearance.
Currently there are four classes at each grade level. We also offer outstanding special area classes under the direction of Kevin Hall – physical education, Karen Stoval - music and Susan Wise – Art. Please watch for our programs and art displays. Our faculty is dedicated, highly experienced and energetic.
Each year we hold parent events for our parents such as Muffins for Mom, Doughnuts for Dad and the Grandparent Tea. This year we are adding two art nights for our parents and a couple library family nights to keep our parents involved. Our PTO is an active and integral part of our school. PTO plans fund raising activities throughout the year and supports many school events. Accelerated Reader is highly encouraged and funded through the Box Tops for Education collection managed by PTO.
