PBIS Project

PBIS - Positive Behavioral Interventions & Support Project

Families, Tommy Smith is so proud to be involved with the Positive Behavior Support program. This program is built upon the foundation which encompasses “a range of research-based strategies used to increase quality of life and decrease problem behavior by teaching new skills and making changes in a person's environment” (APBS, 2014).

Here at TSE :  Our Goal is that we teach academics & we help teach appropriate behaviors.

In each classroom, the students and teachers have built upon these expectations to establish the classroom rules. We are working each and every day on teaching behaviors through the use of our school wide expectations and rules.

Specifically, we are working on our cafeteria and morning arrival expectations and rules. Our cafeteria is called the SELF CONTROL CAFÉ Come join us for lunch and see what we are doing together! Also, please note the Lunchroom and Arrival Expectation and Rules posted in every classroom as well as hallway areas.

Families, you are part of this program:  Please model and teach the appropriate behaviors when you are on our campus.
